Hi, I’m Wills Virgo, welcome to my counselling website, I'm a counsellor and psychotherapist working in Brighton & Hove and the surrounding areas.
We all experience difficulties in our lives from time to time. We may be struggling with behaviors which do not serve us, overwhelming feelings, intrusive thoughts or a more general sense that something isn't quite right in our lives.
Counselling provides a confidential space where we can explore and investigate these difficulties, in the company of another, with the aim of understanding them in order to give ourselves more freedom and choice in our lives. The work of therapy can be challenging but it can also be a transformative experience.
What is counselling or therapy? Well it is a way to help with problems that arise in your life. It is often described as the talking therapy. It's a dialogue which is compassionate, supportive and a place to talk to an impartial person about your worries. It's a chance to find a path through difficult times in your life. It really helps when someone takes care to tune into where you’re at, who doesn’t judge, and who is on your side.
Physical or sexual
A new job
Changes due to illness
Gender or sexual identity
Anxiety & stress
Low self esteem
Whatever brings you to counselling I aim to provide a safe environment where we can explore what’s most relevant for you, at your pace and for the number
of sessions you need.
Communicating empathy towards you and your experiences alongside providing a warm and individually-tailored space are the cornerstones of my practice, as is providing deep listening, humour and insights about what may be going on for you as well as practical ideas to help you.
I believe it's really important that you find a therapist that you like, trust and feel comfortable with.
My practice is proudly LGBT + affirmative
It can be helpful to see a therapist who has an understanding or interest in issues relating to Identity or Sexuality, whether Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Non-Binary, Transgender, Transvestite or other.
I offer support to anyone exploring their identity, gender or sexuality. Sometimes it can be helpful to explore who you are with someone totally neutral.
I see clients weekly, at the same time and day each week, but this can be flexible for example for those working irregular hours.
A website can only get across so much though, so if you’d like more information or to book to meet with me in person– in a safe and confidential environment and with no obligation or fee-
